Bolivian Caritas was recognized by the Supreme Resolution 79050 and signed by the President of the Republic Hernán Siles Zuazo, Dec 4, 1958.

Bolivian Caritas was born thanks to the support of the Bishops and of the Bolivian Episcopal Conference and since then has become the institution of social action for the Church.

Bolivian Caritas is at the moment conformed by a National Office and 18 Diocesan Caritas (including the army).

The preferential work for the poor is the essence of the activity of the Bolivian church, demonstrated in the activities of Social Pastoral and in the countless works of social service carried out by Caritas.
